ForKobo Virtual Card Policy

Effective Date:October 10, 2025
Last Updated:ForKobo Trust & Safety

Official policy governing ForKobo's Virtual Card Service, including eligibility requirements, usage guidelines, security measures, and compliance standards for merchants.

1. Overview

The ForKobo Virtual Card Service ("Service") allows eligible merchants to create and use virtual debit cards ("Virtual Cards") for online transactions related to business operations, advertising, and eCommerce fulfillment.

The Service is provided and powered by ForKobo in partnership with licensed financial institutions and card issuers ("Issuing Partners"). ForKobo itself is not a bank, lender, or financial institution. Instead, we operate as a technology platform that facilitates card issuance and management through authorized third-party providers.

By activating or using a ForKobo Virtual Card, you agree to comply with this Virtual Card Policy, as well as ForKobo's Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy.

2. Eligibility

To access the Virtual Card Service, you must:

  • Have a verified ForKobo merchant account in good standing;
  • Have completed all KYC and identity verification requirements;
  • Be located in a region where ForKobo's issuing partners operate; and
  • Agree to all applicable terms of this Policy and those of our issuing partners.

Important: Eligibility is determined solely by ForKobo and our financial partners. We reserve the right to approve, deny, or revoke access to the Service at any time.

3. Card Issuance

Once approved, you may create one or more Virtual Cards directly from your ForKobo Dashboard. Each Virtual Card is issued under a licensed card program managed by our issuing partners and linked to your verified ForKobo account.

Each card will display:

  • A unique 16-digit card number
  • Expiration date and CVV code
  • Billing address (if applicable)
  • Cardholder name (your registered business or personal name)

Online Use Only: Virtual Cards are for online use only and may not be used for in-person physical transactions.

4. Funding Your Virtual Card

Funds are loaded onto your Virtual Card through your ForKobo Wallet Balance, payout credits, or approved top-up methods supported by ForKobo (e.g., KoboPay, bank transfer, or linked accounts).

Key conditions:

  • Minimum and maximum load limits may apply.
  • Funding sources must match your verified account details.
  • Suspicious or third-party payments may be delayed or rejected pending verification.

No Credit: ForKobo does not offer credit, loans, or overdrafts through the Virtual Card Service. You may only spend funds you have available in your account.

5. Permitted Uses

Virtual Cards are intended for legitimate business-related transactions, such as:

  • Paying suppliers, vendors, or ad platforms (e.g., Meta, Google Ads, TikTok Ads);
  • Purchasing eCommerce tools or digital products;
  • Settling subscription or software fees for your store; and
  • General online business expenses.

You may not use Virtual Cards for:

  • Personal or non-business purchases;
  • Gambling, adult content, or illegal goods;
  • Cryptocurrency or unlicensed exchanges;
  • Money transfers, cash withdrawals, or peer-to-peer payments;
  • Transactions intended to disguise or launder funds.

Important: Violation of these restrictions may result in card suspension or permanent account termination.

6. Fees and Limits

All fees related to Virtual Card usage will be displayed in your ForKobo Dashboard prior to card creation.

Typical fees may include:

  • Card creation fee: Free or up to $2 per card (depending on region)
  • Funding fee: Percentage-based or flat rate per top-up
  • Foreign exchange fee: Applied to non-USD transactions
  • Inactivity or closure fees: None unless otherwise stated

Transaction and balance limits are determined by your verification level, issuing partner, and regional regulations.

7. Payout and Wallet Integration

Your Virtual Card balance is separate from your ForKobo payout earnings.

Payouts from your store are credited to your ForKobo Wallet, from which you can:

  • Transfer funds to your bank;
  • Load funds onto your Virtual Card; or
  • Use them to pay business expenses directly.

Any unauthorized attempts to redirect payout funds to unverified sources may result in holds or compliance reviews under the Payout Schedule Policy.

8. Security and Liability

Each Virtual Card is protected by encryption and real-time fraud monitoring. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your card details and login credentials.

If you suspect unauthorized activity:

  • Immediately lock or disable your card from the ForKobo Dashboard;
  • Contact Trust & Safety at security@forkobo.com; and
  • Report any unauthorized charges within 48 hours of detection.

ForKobo and its partners are not responsible for losses arising from your failure to safeguard credentials or from sharing card information with untrusted parties.

9. Refunds and Disputes

If you request a refund for a transaction made with your Virtual Card, it will be subject to the merchant's refund policy and card network processing timelines.

For disputed or unauthorized charges:

  • Submit a report via your Dashboard or contact Trust & Safety within 7 business days.
  • Dispute investigations may take up to 30 days, depending on card network rules.
  • If a transaction is found to be unauthorized, funds may be recredited to your ForKobo Wallet after verification.

Refunds or disputes that result from policy violations, negligence, or fraud will not be eligible for recovery.

10. Compliance and AML

All Virtual Card transactions are monitored under ForKobo's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies.

ForKobo reserves the right to:

  • Request additional identity verification;
  • Delay or freeze suspicious transactions;
  • Report unusual activity to regulatory authorities; and
  • Terminate access to the Service in cases of suspected misuse.

These measures ensure compliance with global financial regulations and protect all users on the platform.

11. Account Suspension or Termination

Your Virtual Card access may be suspended or terminated if:

  • You violate this Policy or any other ForKobo Terms;
  • Fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected;
  • Your ForKobo merchant account becomes inactive, unverified, or closed; or
  • Required documentation is not provided when requested.

Any remaining balance on a terminated Virtual Card may be refunded to your ForKobo Wallet after regulatory review and approval.

12. Program Modifications

ForKobo may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Virtual Card Service at any time for maintenance, regulatory, or operational reasons. Changes will be announced through the Dashboard or email, and continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Disclaimer

ForKobo is a technology platform that facilitates access to financial services provided by licensed partners. We do not hold deposits, issue credit, or provide banking services. All card issuance, processing, and regulatory compliance are managed by authorized financial institutions under applicable laws.
